Starting mid 2014, Q-Park and WPS replace the parking management system in over 40 parking facilities. This effort is part of a European project affecting more than 75 facilities in the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK.
Since the start of the project, 22 systems have been converted and succesfully commissioned.
The rollout of the project was preceded by a comprehensive test period and successful certification according to strict Q-Park standards. After a pilot in the 'Colonel'-facility, located under Q-Park's headquarters in Maastricht, the parking management systems with corresponding Park Advance ™ parking have been rolled out to other facilities.
Because of the major impact of the overall project, thorough preparation is essential. A dedicated project manager is responsible for the detailed planning, budget monitoring and communication with the client. This approach resulted in minimal downtime and good customer satisfaction.
Besides the familiar barcode and mifare technology, all entries, exits and pay stations have been upgraded with Dip & Go and Wave & Pay ™ technology.Q-Park uses the ParkiD ™ Cloud application to centrally manage all garages, including intercom and CCTV.
